Your follower count is the wrong denominator on TikTok
TikTok reaches non-followers by default, so follower-based rates mislead. Calculate against views instead and see what your videos are really doing.
Benchmarks vary by platform. TikTok typical: 1 to 3% is solid.
Enter follower count and at least one interaction to calculate.

WriteOnce analytics shows views and engagement on live posts.
Enter views in the followers field to get the rate that matters on TikTok, or use followers for the number brand deals still ask for. Both take one line of input.

TikTok distributes through the For You page, which means a video routinely reaches an audience many times the size of the follower count, or a small fraction of it, depending on how the first few hundred viewers behaved. Dividing interactions by followers therefore produces a number that can swing from 2% to 200% for the same account in the same week.
The rate worth tracking is interactions divided by views. Put your view count into the followers field above and read the result that way. It runs lower than the follower-based figure, typically in the low single digits, and it stays stable enough between videos that a change actually tells you something about the video.
Behind both numbers sits the metric TikTok cares about most and does not put in the engagement formula at all: completion rate. A video watched to the end, or rewatched, gets pushed further than one with a good like count and a drop-off at three seconds. That is why the opening second of a TikTok matters more than the caption ever will.
Shares are the strongest of the interactions you can measure here. A share moves the video off-platform or into a DM, and TikTok reads that as the clearest possible signal that the content was worth passing on. Comments come next, and likes are the cheapest, which is why a video with a huge like count and almost no comments often plateaus.
