Take the impression count LinkedIn puts under your post, enter it in the followers field, and add reactions and comments to get the rate people in your industry are quoting.

It runs in the browser. Nothing about your company's post performance goes anywhere.

LinkedIn engagement rate calculator

LinkedIn shows an impression count under every post you publish, which makes the impression-based rate the easy and correct one to use. Interactions divided by impressions, times 100, lands in the low single digits for most posts, and unlike a follower-based rate it does not punish you for having built a large but partly dormant connection list.

Comments are worth disproportionately more than reactions here. LinkedIn's feed keeps resurfacing a post while conversation continues underneath it, so a post with thirty comments and eighty reactions will typically out-travel one with four hundred reactions and silence. That is also why the closing question in a LinkedIn post is doing real work rather than being a habit.

Personal profiles and company pages behave differently enough that averaging them is misleading. Posts from a person reliably out-reach the same content from a company page, so a company page rate of 2% and a personal rate of 2% do not represent equivalent performance. Track them separately and compare each against its own history.

Small accounts should be careful with follower-based rates on LinkedIn in particular. A post from a 400-connection profile that reaches beyond the first degree can produce a rate above 20%, which is arithmetic rather than achievement. The impression denominator removes that distortion entirely.
